7x17 film where to buy
i'm counting my bids and am only steps now into getting into 7x17 ulf
thing is i've been looking around and the only place i seem to find 7x17 film is Freestyle and its just one emulsion- darn!
and i live in Europe, is it really that hard sourcing film for this format?
would appreciate any pointers to the right direction.
Contact Ilford and find out who are the nearest participants to you in the annual Ilford special order. Some of them may have ordered extra to keep in stock and you may be able to buy some that way. Otherwise, get the Efke or wait until next year.
I've been ordering FP4+ from the Ilford annual special order. They'll cut HP5+ too. Adox and Foma should be able to do a special cut for you as well without requiring a very large minimum order, and for color or for Fuji/Kodak emulsions, Fuji and Kodak will do a special cut, if you can make the minimum order, which is substantial (on the order of $10-15,000 USD). Some people have been using the internet to organize custom orders of various emulsions, as long as they are already available in sheet form in some format, like Tri-X, T-Max or Provia 100F, etc.
Ilford makes a high quality product, and for participants in the annual special order, they don't require high minimum orders, so it's an attractive option.
wow! that was fast!
any pointers where i can custom get my toyo810g back standard modified with a 7x17 back?
i know its off topic but now that the film issue is pretty cleared i was just curious if anybody had experience with that, i think i saw a modified sinar p once although not sure who did the modifying
and Thanks a zillion
i love it here!
Someone on Large Format Forum is selling 200 sheets of Tmax 400 7x17,
canham is able to special order kodak film
The 7x17 mod for Toyo sounds like something Richard Ritter might do.
If you're just looking to experiment, you can try xray film. I just bought some from CXSonline to play around with.
The View Camera Store often orders a small quantity in excess of the orders they receive each year for the ILford special run. Great people, give them a call.
The film sold by Freetyle is fine if handled carefully. The price is certainly right. I keep 100-150 sheets of it on hand at all times in addition to my annual Ilford order of FP4+.
