IPW was founded 25 years ago by Kevin Martini Fuller around the time he received a 4-year gubernatorial appointment to the Idaho Commission on the Arts. He's been in the Midwest some time now, but the organization has chugged along through the years. Think camera club without the competitions. This is a great group of people brought together through photography who put the emphasis on the art and enjoyment of making images. Annual dues currently on $20, meet the third Thursday of each month with a guest speaker and print sharing, at the Freedom House on Hill Road in Boise. Typically have group shows every First Thursday downtown in Boise and members pursue their own solo opportunities.
There are currently about 40 active members ranging from full-time professionals to avid enthusiasts.
