Project Basho will be inviting Scott McMahon back to our studio this summer to teach a weekend workshop on Gum Bichromate printing on July 23 & 24.

Participants will learn how to make multi-layered gum prints using sensitized watercolor pigment and various types of light-resists: film negatives, pinhole, digital transparencies, etc. Instruction on safe mixing of chemistry, paper sizing and print manipulation will be covered. Inventive image generation and the use of alternative cameras (pinhole, plastic, modified) will also be explored as students find ways to bring process and concept together.
