These cases - now found at even Kmart are what i have as they come in a varitey of sizes. in white and yellow - though K-mart i think is Blue..??

Bass Pro Shops® Extreme® Boat Bags
( sorry guys - i don't have enough posts to post the link - but a quick google search will pull up many links to this product)
What i did to improve it - was waterproof the zipper added thin line velro just past the zipper so the flap that covers the zipper (top) stays put and pulls closer to the body.
Silconed the seal inside where it meets the Deck tuff bottom (better safe than sorry)
Added foam and you have a waterproof - Deck tuff bottomed carry on style camera case.
I waterproofed all my tripod cases with a commercial grade water proofer used in the boating industry that ranked #1 in a 5 day submersion test by Power Boat Mag (2004 i think) you can find this test in pdf online.
Now if you'd like to donate your Pelicans to the cause, my address is... ;0)
Zipplocks - got em! My 45D is going to be a consern here noting big enough - though... a dry bag might work - they are cheap enough and maybe even big enough that i could modify oenor two to work... hmmm
WalMart has clear ones with mesh to add strength to the plastic. - have to see if it will be big enough.
On the Dessicant - I could come to think of it use silicone beads (sold by the quart or pint?) - they can be recharged via the oven
- i do have a small mess kit with a small pot in it i could use like an oven to re-charge them over the camp fire.
I wasn't going to bring it but it might be perfect for this - then just make a couple bags out of some thin cloth - little denser than cheese cloth to hold them in.
They turn pink when full i think and need re-charging (absorbed all they can - blue when charged. or something like that.)
That might work perfectly for the cases.
any care or tips for the film?
My digital will only last as long as the batteries - i don't have a solar hook up that will work for them. besides even here in florida going out in these type conditions with high humidity - it comes alive and has a mind of it's own.
Real weird at time - re-focuses and changes settings just holding it so i don't think it's going to fair the trip too well... we'll see.
I'm bringing a underwater 35mm as well small one but i want to have it with just in case the opportunity presents itself to use it...
