Thanks, but what was misplaced was one of the springs in the mechanism itself. If you remove the right leather, you'll find three screws.
Unscrewing them you can take the right wall with the crank off and you get this:

One of the springs there was just sitting not connected so
I looked at the schematics and re-attached it to where it belongs.
