I've always been fascinated by things like corridors and tunnels, but particularly cavernous empty spaces. Much of my photography is about this sort of stuff. I've never done a cohesive series on any one place, although the essentially abandoned Olympic Stadium is something I've been trying to get all-access permission to photograph for a while now. I'd love to do a series on that. Even filled with people it was always a very strange desolate place.
I must say I'm quite captivated by this Bulgarian monument right now. I keep going back to this set of images. I'm finding a tremendous sense of mystery in it. Even though it doesn't date far back at all, it seems like some unearthed relic. I imagine some distant future scenario in which people are studying the stylized mosaics, trying to decipher the purpose of this structure etc. Things like this really get my imagination going.
