Newbie from Connecticut
I'm just a hobbyist currently obsessed with B&W. I learned my way around the darkroom in an elective in college twelve years ago, and recently rekindled my interest in analog when I found and developed an undeveloped roll of film which had pictures of my late father and grandfather. The latent images formed in silver waiting to be developed and fixed into visible form. I'm a hack and I wing it completely - that's what I love about it.
I picked up an enlarger (or two) and had some success with it, now I'm struggling to keep up with my beginner's luck. Unfortunately, winging it means unpredictability and unstructured results, so I have a lot of work ahead of me. I'm hoping it's not just a passing obsession like homebrewing (which I had success with but found it to be too much work -- am I doomed or will I overcome the fact that the two are similarly exhausting).
I love that people are practically giving this analog stuff away.
