I *always* wanted to know how things worked. I was so into it, actually, that I took things apart to find out. I don't understand the whole 'just give me the answer' mindset. The best thing about learning something is finding out the hows and whys.
The fact that kids don't have the wonder anymore makes me sad.
Same here. It might be partially because my parents are a nurse and an engineer, too, but I did end up as a scientist. I'm hoping to get my little one interested in science and the "why" of everything (beyond just asking "why" about everything like he is now).
Imagination is also something that many people seem to lack. It was greatly encouraged in my house growing up.
