What is all that fuss about!
Look, in my about 30 years career as a professional photographer, I have worked with/for as manny men as woman. Wether they ware account executives, art directors, designers, editors, writers, journalists, publishers, you name it; both sexes were more or less equally represented (this is North-West Europe).
They all had about the same amount of positive and negative 'points', no real deference at all, some ware really good, others did not fit for the job or just unaware.
The one was neurotic, the other was hysteric, and the rest could more or less be considered as being 'normal', never the less they all had their very personal 'thing' anyway, but who am I...
What I always saw, as a constant, was the suppressing - sometimes insulting - and chauvinistic attitude of men against woman, this was a permanently repeating attitude which annoyed me a lot and never could understand. I never saw woman doing this for the same amount (some of the woman did it too, but merely as a revanche).
There was and is no reason to consider the other of a lesser kind. I always tried to be honestly respectful when appropriate, respect is something one has to earn, not just getting it because of a gender or economical/social 'status'...
I met real and genuine bitches and real and genuine rascals, others ware true lovely persons, men and woman alike.
But, but, the best organized campaigns where directed by woman (and Japanese engineers), no detail was missed and no money got 'lost', what remarkable efficiency!
I am not a feminist militant nor a female chauvinist, just a self employed photographer, entrepreneur, who sees at the end what really happened that day!
"Give to Caesar what Caesar deserves and to God what God deserves" (not a really well translated quote I confess), the same goes for men and woman.
