I belong to a co-op art gallery and if you hang your art you need to work there one day a month. When I was there last a young couple was doing yoga-like exercizes on a large grassy area outside our windows. He was supporting her body on his feet, etc. Very nice. The other atists who were manning the gallery with me asked why I didn't take a photo of them. I asked why they didn't paint or sculpt the couple. They of course were working and could not take the time. They did not understand that serious photography is not simply a "snap" and you are done. I admit it would have made a nice photo of I had been free to get out the right camera, film and lens, read the light, find the best angle and so on.
The point is almost nobody (except I suspect those who read this forum) get what we are doing and never will. It's all hocus-focus to them.
