Personal maturity can't be taught, learned, shamed, or punished into existence. Nor can a perscription for it be written and pills taken to get it. No one is born with it. And some will pass on still without it.
By definition, there is one and only one possible avenue of acquisition. The passage of time. And the arrow of time cannot be rushed or short-circuited. It is what it is. So we learn to make the course corrections known, sometimes over and over, then wait patiently until suddenly one day the lesson is learned. Or not.
