If you've been arrested for something minor (or even a non-violent felony), do not have a previous record of serious crime, are not a flight risk, etc., it's highly likely you'll be released on your own recognizance without posting bail.
Neither presume guilt or related charge without probable cause and sufficient evidence, of course.I was confusing a couple of concepts: Failure to appear vs. a fleeing suspect. (If a person runs away from a police officer he can presume that the person has a reason to run. e.g. Was caught in a criminal act.)
