Iíve used a 630 for 4 years now and I really like it. I use it as a back up for my eos-3. In the negative side you can count its age (close to 17 years now), the interface for manual mode and the lack of E-TTL. In the positive side you have the metal construction (no polycarbonate), the general feel of the camera and the ability to leave the film lead out after rewind (my personal first reason to buy it). AF is not great but I use manual focus with a split prism screen. And no problem with IR film as long as you donít use the version with the date back (my personal second reason to buy it). If you want to give it a try is a cool camera to use but, as it was mentioned before, $300 is way too much money for the camera you can buy it used for around $30.
Hope this help
