I tried it.

1) I took a Kodak Tri-X (because of it's forgiving nature :-) )
2) I developed it in the stuff you use to clean the drain in your sink and diluted it to suiting dilution.
3) I developed for 7 minutes. Stop bath and fixer as normally.

A quite funny thing to try out. A bit contrasty but that I'll correct next time.
