Like Matt, I brought mine on an eBay auction at a minimal price. Later I ordered extra quick release plates.

I would buy from them again, but I would get a lighter weight model.

If I used a tripod extensively or bought an LF camera, then I would buy a tripod from one of the premier tripod manufacturers.
