    Some Ilford film developers

Here are some more recipes. Ilford this time. Mix chems in the order given and exercise caution when mixing chemistry. And have fun.

    ILFORD FILM DEVELOPER ID-2

This is a rapid developer intended for tray processing of sheets and plates. It can be further diluted for use with tank processing as well.

    STOCK SOLUTION

    WATER(52C OR 125F)------------------750.0 cc
    METOL--------------------------------2.0 g
    SODIUM SULFITE,DESSICATED----------75.0 g
    HYDROQUINIONE-----------------------8.0 g
    SODIUM CARBONATE,MONOHYDRATED---43.0 g
    POTASSIUM BROMIDE------------------2.0 g
ADD COLD WATER TO MAKE------------1.0 litre

For tray processing, dilute the stock solution 1:2 with water. Develop from 3'00" to 6'00" at 20C.
For tank processing, dilute the stock solution 1:5 with water. Develop from 6'00" to 12'00" at 20C.

    ILFORD FILM DEVELOPER ID-67

A phenidone version of the metol ID-2 developer, suitable for sheets and plates.

    STOCK SOLUTION

    WATER(52C OR 125F)--------------750.0 cc
    SODIUM SULFITE,ANHYDROUS------75.0 g
    HYDROQUINONE--------------------8.0 g
    SODIUM CARBONATE,DESSICATED--37.5 g
    PHENIDONE------------------------0.25 g
    POTASSIUM BROMIDE--------------2.0 g
    BENZOTRIAZOLE-------------------0.15 g
ADD COLD WATER TO MAKE--------1.0 litre

For tray development, dilute 1:2 with water and develop from 2'30" to 5'00" at 20C.
For tank development, dilute 1:5 with water and develop from 5'00" to 10'00" at 20C.

    ILFORD FILM DEVELOPER ID-68

This is a replenishible, low-contrast, fine-grain developer that is very similar to Kodak's D-76 in all respects excepting the use of phenidone instead of metol.

    WATER(52C OR 125F)----------750.0 cc
    SODIUM SULFITE,DESSICATED--85.0 g
    HYDROQUINONE----------------5.0 g
    BORAX-------------------------7.0 g
    BORIC ACID--------------------2.0 g
    POTASSIUM BROMIDE-----------1.0 g
    PHENIDONE---------------------0.13 g
ADD COLD WATER TO MAKE-----1.0 litre

    DO NOT DILUTE.
Develop films from 8'00" to 10'00" at 20C.
Develop plates from 4'00" to 7'00" at 20C.

    ILFORD ID-68 REPLENISHER

    WATER(52C OR 125F)----------750.0 cc
    SODIUM SULFITE,DESSICATED--85.0 g
    HYDROQUINONE----------------8.0 g
    BORAX-------------------------7.0 g
    PHENIDONE--------------------0.22 g
ADD COLD WATER TO MAKE-----1.0 litre

Add the replenisher as needed to maintain the level of the developer. You can replenish an amount equal to the original amount of developer before discarding the solution.
